Relationships are essential for a sense of belonging as it makes you feel acceptance. Relationships are a vital component of health and wellbeing. There is evidence that states that strong relationships contribute to a long, healthy, and happy life. The health risks from being alone and isolated are a comparable risk to smoking, blood pressure and obesity. A review of 148 studies found that people with strong healthy relationships are 50% less likely to die prematurely. When Mrs Tuohys took in Micheal to the end when they sent him off to collage their relationships as a family and as indivduals changed dramaticly. Michael also grew relationships with his teachers at school and he was able to pass his classes which was able to get hime a scholarship for football. Having healthy relationships around Michael made him feel and accepted and a sense of belonging as he was given suport from his new adopted family, and they were all so kind to Michael. In the simple both Old Bill and Billy experienced not having a sense of belonging when the teenage boy Billy had a drunk father he felt very alone so he moved out of home to get away and became homeless at a train station Billy wanted to search for an identity and a place in the community. Billy translates belonging to mean, to be around people who care about him and accept him without questioing anything he does. When Billy found Caitlin he had sense of belonging and it showed him what it felt like to have a healthy relationship around hime, he also felt like he belonged at places For example Billy felt like he belonged in the town Bendarat until he left. All of the things Mrs Tuohy and Mr Tuohy helped Michael achieved made his life change drasticly and without them he would be miserbale with nothing happening in his life. Billy's life changes when he met Caitlin at Mcdonalds where he would eat leftovers. Caitlin helped Billy in his growth as an indivdual which he changed from the begging of the book to the end. Caitlin also showed love towards Billy which made happy and gave him a sense of belonging. Both the Blind side and simple gift show people lifes changing as they develop relationships. Kindness of others not only benofitted Michael and Billy but also ennched lives of those who gave help as they felt proud of themselves to be able to give help and see them change.
Conclusion, overall the Blind side and the simple gift showed how extremely important it is to have people around you that care about you show love and just want to see you succed is it can save your life which is what happened in both the Blind side and the simpel gift. Both movie and book showed characters that did not belong and did not have healthy relationships around and they were all homeless which shows that not having people that love and care about you
