It touches on the innate bond between women and sisters by showing the possibilities of having a mutual backing versus doing things by yourself all the time. Whether it be during the 19th century or today in the 21st, having someone to lean on during times of darkness is something I believe that Rosetti touched on. This is the connection for women to notice, as well; competing to get to the top may lead to self-prosperity, but they are far more important matters to concern oneself with.
