Domestic Abuse Case Summary

Lamyia Walters has been cooperative but very deceitful when describing her relationship status and domestic abuse issues. She has had consistent contact with the caseworker since case opening. Lamyia switches from hostile to apologetic with worker daily. Lamyia continues to provide different explanations for the reasons the children were brought into care. These explanations often completely contradict one another. When this is brought to Lamyia’s attention, she begins screaming at worker, supervisor, and any other staff present. Lamyia states that she was told to lie about the perpetrator of the abuse by DCP at Shelter Care. Lamyia has kept all appointments with the caseworker. Lamyia does cooperate with court orders in regards to Lamyia’s services.
Lamyia has completed parenting as of 3/9/2017. This worker has received documentation for completion. In June 2017, Worker has suggested Lamyia reengage in parenting classes due to the chaotic environment during visitation. This worker spoke with the service provider on 2/13/2017. According to the service provider, there were no recommendations for services. The service provider reported that Lamyia may have been slightly deceitful during her assessment. This worker has received the assessment as of 3/9/2017. There were no recommendations. It is noted in the Mental Health Assessment Lamyia reported throughout her assessment, “she didn’t have any mental health symptoms and didn’t meet criteria for any diagnoses”. The screener reported in the assessment that Lamyia exhibited low level of willingness to participate in recommended services.
