With regards to job satisfaction, all four traits of emotional stability, internal locus of control, generalized self-efficacy and self-esteem also had a positive relationship. The results with regards to job performance were weaker than job satisfaction and there was substantial variability with regards to individual correlations within the studies. Prior to this study, there were few studies who dove into the relationship between self-esteem or locus of control with regards to job satisfaction and job performance. The evidence found regarding generalized self-efficacy and emotional stability was inconsistent prior to this meta-analysis.
