He said he used to have American style food a lot such as hamburgers and sausage. Those foods contain great amount of sodium and high calories, which is too much for our body. Jeff always has mix vegetable fish with spicy, but currently he changes the white rice to brown rice. He drinks two classes of red wine every time for his meal. He said the food he has is his medicine that vegetables have lots of vitamins and other essential nutrition. Drinking red wine help his cardiovascular system since he cannot do intense aerobic exercise. The older people cannot do exercise suddenly because of their physical ability. They might try to do some light exercise like walking which will help their cardiovascular system strength. He ate slowly and usually takes about one hour and thirty minutes, which help his stomach to digest the food better and would not over diet. That’s the reason I saw he only finished most of the vegetables, fish and half of a serving rice. This make me think of people work in fast pace or student which a full class schedule will have issue with their stomach because they eat rapidly, or they don’t have food to eat and lack of exercise because of the busy …show more content…
I asked this because I think the food we have in our younger age affect our health in our older age that not all the food or toxic that create by digested food will eliminate by our body. Also, those toxic remain in our body and make our body imbalance. He agreed with this idea, and said American have a phrase that what you eat make you who you are. He said he has saw a little kid drank a big bottle of coke that is more than 1 liter, by himself. That is bad for the kid’s health that coke only has sugar and that kid might take more than 15 scopes of sugar at a time. I said this kid might turns out with obesity if he continues to drink that much of coke every day. Then Jeff said the kid not only get obesity but also diabetes, and that’s the reason he doesn’t drink soft drink and processed food. He said American used to worry about the process foods because process foods are bad for people’s health, and consumer would never know what ingredients manufactures add into the products. Jeff also think people can live longer than before because of the advanced medical techniques. I told him that I try to avoid those drink and food too, because of my culture. In my culture, people lived in South of China get used to light diet which is light in oil, salt and not much of spicy because of the climate we lived in and experiences of diet.
