A relationship with someone does not just mean being boyfriend and girlfriend but just having some type of connection with someone defines what a relationship is. Within this collection I have learned that having or being in relationships with others as individuals and in groups is very significant. Having or being in relationships with others does help define who we are. Relationships helps us as individuals be closer together and allows us to rely and depend on each other whenever we need it. “What, of This Goldfish, Would You Wish?” and “I Am Malala” both give examples on how having a relationship with someone will impact their being.

Sergei just wanted company and his last wish was to not be alone and the goldfish brought Yonatan back to life. Yonatan was going to be with Sergei so he is not alone and so the goldfish can be free. This story showed that since Sergei has always been isolated from everyone, he never got to know what it was like to have friends or any type of company. Once he was comfortable with the goldfish he knew that he would want friends and he did not want to be alone. This relationship that Sergei had with the goldfish impacted him because now he can't be alone since he got used to having a friend to talk to. According to page 8 lines 185-188, it explains what Sergei did with the goldfish. He would talk with the goldfish about whatever the goldfish wanted to talk about but he never wanted to be alone.
