Theseus and the Minotaur During the Panathenaic Games, Androgeus, the son of Minos, the king of Crete was killed in the running of the bulls by the same bull that impregnated his mother. Consequently, King Minos was devastated by this loss and demanded the king of Athens to give him seven boys and girls each year to be sacrificed to the Minotaur in order to avoid conflict with Crete. The Minotaur is the son of the Mino’s wife and a bull sent by Zeus.
