In The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, Christopher’s relationship with his Father is very complicated and capricious. At the start of the story, Christopher is very dependent on his Father in order to stick with the routine he created for himself, and his Father knows how to handle Christopher well, as he has done so since Christopher was an infant. Although Christopher and his Father know how to take care of each other at the beginning, as Christopher begins to change, their relationship does as well; the once innocent Christopher becomes more curious about who killed Wellington, and his father, the culprit, becomes more and more erratic and temperamental as he tries to cover it up.
