1) The relationship between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat has been an ever-changing alliance since the dawn of capitalism. With the new methods of communication erupting over the course of time, the ability to control the masses has become significantly easier. In modern society today, pop culture has figuratively become the main source to how people choose to live their lives. From musicians to socialites and actors, the public turns to the hottest figures in media to understand the latest trends, moral issues and even political standpoints. The influence may seem innocent to the regular citizen, but most personalities in pop culture are strictly controlled to adhere to the unknowing consumer. Through the controlled personalities, celebrities’ profit off of market deals and product placements popularized because of their fame. The initial idea is to get the consumer to conform to the idea of who and how a person should be.
In Marxist theory, these popular figures would be classified as the bourgeoisie and the consumers from society would be classified as proletariats. At the dawn of

The main reason why UGG boots are as expensive as they are is because of one thing, the name “UGG”. When looking at the knockoff brands like Emus, Bear Paws or even Airwalk, they are arguably better and significantly cheaper then the actual UGG brand. The connotation of UGG evokes the feeling of quality comfort, wealth and favored aesthetic, whereas the knock-off brands portray poverty and inferiority. UGGs are also seen worn by famous celebrities and the endorsement promotes the brands legitimacy. But, once again, the main difference between the two products is the marketing and capitalist ideal attached to the more expensive option.
