“Elizabeth insists that he is a good man, and this finally convinces him that he is”(Abbotson). She convinces him that he is a good person and he says “You have made your magic now, for now I do see some goodness in John Proctor”(Miller, Act IV, 144). Elizabeth told Proctor that no matter what happens she will always support him. She tells him that it is his soul and that it will over affect him in the end. She supported him and made sure to tell him that “As you will, I would have it” indicating that she will support him even if it means that she could lose him forever( Miller136). “Proctor to choose a dignified death rather than an ignoble betrayal by signing his name to a false document”(Abbotson 121).
