Relationship Between Frank And Tub

Decent Essays
If I had to answer just off the top of my head who is the most sympathetic character, then it would end in a tie between Tub and Frank. However, after rereading portions of the text, I believe Tub not only has sympathy for his friend Frank, but also for other people in the world. The reason I came to the initial conclusion of a tie between Frank and Tub is because of the two conversations between them in which they both share their secrets. Instead of judging their friend for their actions, both of them comfort the other person in a certain way. In the case of Frank's secret, Tub reminds Frank that "when you've got a friend it means you've always got someone on your side, no matter what." Frank returns the favor after Tub reveals his lie

The film “Of Mice and Men” directed by Gary Sinise is an adaption of the novel with the same name written by John Steinbeck, it depict the icon living conditions and life style of itinerant farm workers in California during the Great Depression. Both the novel and the film develop the themes of “friendship,” “loneliness,” and “loss of dreams” and use the actions of the characters to portray these themes through different methods. In the film, George displays tenderness when he gently cleans the blood from Lennie’s face after Curley attacks…

The main characters in both stories have much in common such as the friendship between Lennie and George and Walter and Jesse, the consequences that George and Walter have because of their companion, the sacrifice that George and Walter make for their friend, and the contrast of how Lennie is retarded and Jesse is not. The first comparison is the friendship between Lennie and George and Walter and Jesse. Lennie and George would do anything for each other if one of them asked for it.…

George Milton, a character from the book “Of Mice of Men” who in my opinion is a hero archetype. The hero archetype is a character who battles evil and helps the nature of good. He fits this archetype well because throughout the whole book he helps Lennie and kinda tries to lead him to the right path. He watches over Lennie and tries to keep him out of trouble. I choose this character because he seemed nice and different than other characters.…

“Learn from me, if not by my precepts, at least by my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge, and how happier the man is who believes his native town to be the world, than he who aspires to become greater than his nature will allow" (Shelley 53). Though Frankenstein was written in 1818, it had still been one of the most well-known Gothic Romance novels written to this day. Mary Shelley, the author who grew up in England, took quite a risk when writing this because “horror stories” were not exactly welcomed, especially ones written by women. In spite of this, her husband, Percy Shelley, published it under his name (“Mary Shelley.”). There are several crucial characters in this novel including the scientist, Victor Frankenstein,…
