Society is changing at an ever increasing rate from technology and business, to government and culture, the world of tomorrow is increasingly unrecognizable to generations past. With these changing times there is a cultivating pressure on the individual to not only adapt, but overcome through usage of innovation and critical thinking acquired through leadership development. Unlike years past, businesses are no longer charged with imbuing these skills upon its workers. All this dynamic challenge requires a workforce with the ability to apply equally dynamic solutions. The issue of finding an alternative fuel source is a prime example of the necessity of ethical leadership on the large scale. Scientists know that the developed world will not be able to maintain current energy consumption without utilizing an alternative fuel source comparable to that of oil, yet seemingly little has been done to address this monumental challenge. Elon Musk who is the CEO of Tesla, is dedicating countless dollars and hours to achieving a system where efficient electrical vehicles will never be out of range of charging in the continental United States, as well as homes having access to affordable renewable energy taking their dependence of the main power grid. Not only has Elon Musk made significant headway, but he also shares his designs with other companies to encourage innovation and maximize productivity. Elon Musk is a modern ethical leader, and he demonstrates the skills and traits that college students should be exposed to while at university in order to ensure world issues, such as finding another energy source, are in good hands. To create more of an emphasis on ethical leadership studies on campus, universities could either add leadership specific courses to the core curriculum, or have the professors of major specific courses incorporate ethical leadership lessons/practices into the class room. The later would prove more effective because it would provide an opportunity for the professors to create more industry specific examples and lessons. This would provide more seamless and relevant leadership development that has a higher potential of interesting the student due to it being specific to the industry of their
