Daedalus was a talented sculptor and architect, he was very famous for his work. Talus (Daedalus’s nephew) arrives, he’s very talented as well and invents the saw and the compass. Daedalus is jealous of Talus and pushes him of a cliff to his death. Daedalus wanders and then ends up in Crete. King Minos hires Daedalus and he builds the Labyrinth for the Minotaur. Daedalus then realizes he's a prisoner and has an idea of flying away. He makes wings for himself and Icarus. Icarus starts to fly out of control. Daedalus warns Icarus not to be so reckless but he doesn’t listen and the wax melts on Icarus's wings and he falls screaming. Daedalus sees feathers on the water's surface and realizes Icarus is dead. He reacts emotionally and curses himself.
