Throughout high school, several of my teachers and mentors heavily emphasized how important college was and how different it is compared to high school. In the beginning, I didn 't pay much mind to it, but as time went by and college was right around the corner, reality began to come into play. At first, you don’t take it seriously. You think that it can 't be as hard as everyone states that it is. Although, once you get there, it 's a whole different story. Whether it 's the classes you take that effect your schedule, the expenses of your education, or even the relationship between yourself and the teacher along with the relationship with your peers. Both experiences are incredibly different.

High school teachers are very lenient and forgiving of your mistakes. Let 's say if you forget to finish an assignment that was due during the beginning of that class period. Most teachers would just brush it off and let you finish it during class or tell you to turn it in by the end of the day. If you don’t turn in an assignment on time in college, it 's an automatic zero and it 's almost impossible to make it up. Another difference between them is there one-on-one communication with their students. Both high school and college teachers assist you to a certain extent, although, their approaches are no where near alike. High school teachers tend to get more involved emotionally with their students. They take the time to figure out everyone 's different learning abilities and adjust how they teach in order for everyone to be on the same level. College professors can vary. Some will take the time to make sure that you are understanding the lessons as they go and offer help as needed but some do the exact opposite. Some do not take the time to adjust their learning content for an individual, although, they are help defuse any confusion. Regardless, every teacher there to help in their own

College teaches students to be more independent relying on ourselves to take care of our studies and learning process. Take High School for example. High School teachers will constantly remind students of deadlines for assignments while professors could care less if students missed the deadline. Because college students are considered more “mature”, students are required to manage their own time checking due dates for each class themselves.…

A great example would be the global cultural events where you learn about other cultures, societies, and are able to see the world from a new, fresh…
