Family Theory Assessments and Application of Family Interventions According to the Family Theory, each part of a system is interrelated, dependent on each other, and affects one another (Codina Leik, 2014). It is extremely important to incorporate this theory into assessments and family interventions in primary care. Both of my preceptors incorporated this system into their assessments and care.…

I believe that many people are in a relationship with another individual or are friends with them because of the different characteristics they possess. Yes, these differences create tension, but if people want a relationship to last they accept these differences. This theory seems as though it will support my opinion that people prefer to spend time with individuals who are different from them.…

In order to conduct a successful first family interview, it is necessary to determine the willingness of the family to receive services and engage with the workers assigned to assist them with services and family issues. It is important to reiterate to them that while the services will ultimately benefit them, it is their right (or not) to engage with the workers. This step reinforces the autonomy of the family, but the presence of workers helps to reinforce the fact that they truly do need help. The first family interview needs to take place with every family member present (Brooks & Cole, 2013).
