The education of the upcoming students in college and even high school will play a key role in the development of space exploration. For example, the editor from nasa.gov, Karl Hille said “While many college students have started applying what they are learning at school in summer internships...The final results of their efforts may one day be orbiting above the Earth or flying off into deep space.”(Hille). Hille also went on to describe the importance of education in order for the students to utilize design environments for space missions. Furthermore, the thought of making a difference in space exploration encourages students to pursue STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) careers and …show more content…
The population on Earth is growing everyday, at one point it will reach its carrying capacity. Just like when animals must migrate to other habitats in order to survive, humans will have to do the same thing. But instead of moving thirty miles away, humans will have to move 140 billion miles away, for example to mars. New colonies established in the galaxy will keep a network of resources trading with each other, supplying man with enough materials to strive for eternity. Richard Hollingham from BBC quoted Jerry Stone by writing that Stone told his students at Princeton, “There are two big advantages of constructing a colony in space rather than on a planet,” explains Stone. “You have the Sun’s energy 24 hours a day, so you can concentrate that energy to melt materials or use it to generate power, and you can rotate the habitat to create whatever gravity you want.”(Hollingham). Showing, colonization in space would not only help the human race survive, but just like the different colonies on Earth, they would grow new
