I was able to relate to the film in many ways because I am from an immigrant family and heard all the stories of how my parents immigrated to the United States from El Salvador. The film is about Rudy, the protagonist, a Mexican-American who was born and raised in East LA. Through experiencing many different stereotypes, Rudy is able to paint a picture of our society and how immigrants are treated, both in and out of America. In the film Rudy gets caught up in an immigration raid on a factory while attempting to pick up his cousin.
