Counselor met with Pt. to discuss his current progress in treatment and develop a strong relapse prevention plan. Pt. was encouraged to share about how he is maintaining his financial goals and what he wants working on his upcoming tx plan. Pt. stated that he is constantly behind on his TX services payments. discussed with his last counselor how he paid back the money he stole from them when he was in his full blown addiction Pt. reported that he was analyzing and discussing with counselor how he can replace old/past activities with healthy recreational activities. Pt. stated, “Some of my past activities used to revolve around drugs.” Pt. spoke about the importance of finding clean and sober friends because all his current friends and acquaintance are drug users. Counselor provided him with NA meetings in the Rehoboth area where he can attend and meet supportive sober people. Counselor taught Pt. that the people with whom he was getting high were not true friends and that he needs to begin to forge positive relationships with drug-free and recovering people. Counselor explained that participating in AA, NA, or CA are ways of filling the void left by the loss of drug-using peers.
