After reading Gladwell’s article, I realized how powerful social media can be through some of the examples he provided. For instance, the fact that Sameer Bhatia from Silicon Valley found a match for a bone marrow transplant through a campaign that evolved just from his business partner sending out an email shows that social media is rapid, efficient, and transformative. I agree that social media is changing everyday, therefore influencing the way activism works. I believe that social media is extremely powerful. I also agree with Gladwell’s statement, “The new tools of social media have reinvented social activism”.
