Reinforcement In Workplace

Positive reinforcement can create positive energy because this should improve your relationship with the person you gave this reinforcement to and they should continue that behavior because they were rewarded. Giving recognition shows that you appreciate what this person does and should make that person feel good about themselves. In turn, they should relate better to you. Showing courtesy shows that you respect others and will create or build a positive environment when this becomes the culture. Active listening creates positive energy because it shows that you value what the speaker is saying and creates open and honest communication. Lastly, saying thank you shows others that you appreciate what they have done and is a great motivational tool.

This will show employees how valuable they are to the company and that their hard work does not go unnoticed, which will increase their confidence, attitude and performance. “If management provides feedback to employees, employees are more likely to engage if they have a strong competence motive, a powerful drive to self-evaluate” (Newstrom, 2015…

Hi Ataya, I think finding the teams motivation is a great way to make sure the employees continue to follow the owner’s policies Sarah is enforcing. I think hearing them out is a great idea too, but I also think Sarah should have more control as the manger on where she places her employees. Sarah can use the workshop as a guide on how well the employees did and place them accordingly to their strengths and where they can gain the most experience. I also think a raise is only needed when an employee shows a tremendous accomplishment or extremely good work and effort. I do not think all the employees should receive a raise all at once, and it actually may cause them to lose motivation.…

In general, in most cases, some conflicts can be handled by forgiving someone or through the process of negotiation. In short, either way the outcome will be better for you and the person physically and mentally, as most writers states that, holding onto grief and hurt is psychologically unhealthy (Cahn, D., &. Abigail, R. A, 2014, p. 207). Therefore, if we learned to forgive the person or persons that hurt or betrayed us and this can reduce our chances of depression and anxiety. In contrast, when we forgive it can boost our self-esteem, improving perceptions of self-efficacy, and increasing self-esteem and feelings of hope while lowering depression and anxiety for incest survivors (Cahn, D., &.…

In Operant Conditioning some factual points that stood out to me were two-forms of positive and negative reinforcement and punishment. With the use of positive and negative reinforcement to increase or decrease a behavior could be rewarding in molding behaviors in most cases. With the use of operant conditioning, this could also be a great tool to use outside of the classroom. (Positive reinforcement) If a Childs (Behavior) is good during class (Consequence) a parent could praise them on it and treat them out, etc., for such good behavior at school and then (future behavior) the child would continue their progress of behaving in class.…

Punishment verses Rewards The use of positive reinforcement has a much better outcome than if punishment were to be used, This was the idea of B.F. Skinner, a well-known psychologist from the 1970’s who enlightened the world with his behavioral techniques. Skinner believed that the use of positive reinforcement helped to shape a beings behavior verses punishment. He proved his theory when he trained his rats to push a lever by frequent and scheduled rewards and birds to peck plates using his positive reinforcement ideas. He wanted to take his knowledge of positive reinforcement and apply it to mankind and to improve mankind’s behavior and learning technique.…

We had to go to a travel agency in order to coordinate the trip and be able to put a down payment to secure our place. However, they would vacillate in the days we would be going to the travel agency and would always cancel. They would say we would go the next day, the day would come and the same thing would happen. I do not become angry often, but this became extremely frustrating because I change my plans during February break in order to accommodate the time to go with them to the travel agency.…
