I started watching Reign last year and although I have only watched series one I am completely hooked. Reign is an American, historical, fantasy, romance television series that is on Netflix. It has also won the People choice award as well as been nominated for three Teen Choice Awards.

This amazing show follows the early years of Mary, Queen of Scots when she was living in France. The show's main plot is about Mary's gripping struggle on weather she should follow her head or heart to either marry Francis II of France, whom she has been betrothed to since she was a child, or various other suitors who could provide a better political alliance. However the choice is not easy as she is torn between doing what is right for Scotland and where her

All of this leads the show being ridiculously addictive with a new cliff-hanger after every episode.

Unfortunately, so far, the show has only been aired in the UK on Netflix. However it has had amazing reviews from its viewers, with an average rating of 8.7/10. The show also has a great cast starring Adelaide Kane as Mary, who has been in Neighbours and Teen Wolf as well as Toby Regbo as Francis who has respectfully been in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II and CBBCs M.I High.

This show is truly unique for it is not only lots of fun to watch but also shows what life was like to be a woman in that time period and how important marriages were in those days, particularly for royalty. The show makes a big point of how much time and planning can go into these arrangements and how quickly they can all fall apart. Reign also clearly represents the complete and utter control men have in making decisions over women and simply how unfair a woman's life was as they were in men's mercy at all times. And okay so it may not be actually historically accurate at any point other than the characters names the show is still

Throughout the chapter, Mary Anne’s actions seem unrealistic and a bit exaggerated. Many of O’Brien’s stories in the novel have most of the criteria of a true war story. By using this technique, O’Brien makes the story more realistic and lets the reader feel connected. Sometimes, he has to make up events only to let the reader understand what war really is and what it does to people. In his novel, he tries to show that not all good things always happen in a war as in most shown in the war movies.…
