Ideas can vary from rehabilitation centers to help those who have an addiction to assigning an officer to just spend time with the individual especially if that individual is an adolescent. Children that are young tend to do actions before they think of the consequences. Reasons for this is they may be, they are raised in a single-parent household, or see their older peers selling and using illegal drugs. When raised by a single parent they do not have the affection of a child that has the support of two parents. They may not a father figure to keep them in line when they act out. If they don’t get punished, they may think that they can do it again. Younger siblings look up to their older peers as it has always been like that in my opinion. They see their peers as role models and will do anything they see them doing. The slogan “monkey see, monkey do” comes into play in this situation when a child sees someone they look to committing a criminal act or selling and using illegal drugs they are more likely to regurgitate what he or she …show more content…
The question comes up over and over again on how the criminal justice system can improve the ways they run the organization. From lending down harsh penalties for people that have non-violent offenses instead of helping them through rehabilitation so they can become a part of society again. Police officers could be more involved in the community, helping look over those that have juvenile records. The officers can be around and that is the best thing they can do. When they are present it makes it harder to get away with criminal acts. At the same time when officers are in the community they can spend time with the children and give speeches in order for them to learn about jail and how it is not a place that you want to spend your life at. We know that this is going to be a big mountain to climb in order to find the perfect rehabilitation program to help those who want to change. The criminal justice system can set up events where there are police officers and they could also have people who have been in trouble with the law and got help tell their stories to the
