Abstract
The nervous system is a vital part of our body. Without the nervous system our body would have no control over it functions and how to perform properly. Each component must work together to achieve each task no matter how big or small the task is. Just think about it for a second, the smallest movement requires the use of muscles, bones, and neurons which pass information to the central nervous system of the brain. The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. The brain is the master control center for the whole body. It receives impulses that provide information about the body’s internal and external state. When this takes place, the brain sends messages to enable a response to repair, react and retrieve information in order to handle the reactions that is taken place. The nervous system can be described much like a captain of a ship. It is through the captain that orders are handed down and actions begin to take place. The nervous system controls our actions, thinking, and behavior which help our body and other systems to function as one. It allows on to focus and pay attention to our emotions, surrounding and how we view things in our lives in order to adapt or survive where the effects of fear, aggression or anxiety can cause reactions to determine if one’s life is endanger or utilize the survival of the fittest to fight, escape or stand one’s ground in the battle of life that one faces on a daily basis. How we use our minds to fight off fear and the dangers that lurk within ourselves can be a defense mechanism to help safe one’s life or the life of
