Regulations for nursing practice is meant to protect the public from harm of negligent nurses. Negligent can come in many forms, nurses can be incompetent, unprepared or burned-out to name a few. It is very important that these regulations hold nurses accountable to their actions to prevent harm of patients. The two regulations I chose are 1) obtain instruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing technique or practices and 2) conduct practice without discrimination on the basis of age, race, religion, sex, sexual preference, national origin, or handicap.
