Before technology was implemented into classrooms and schools, children had to memorize a lot more of their curriculum, but now the world is at their finger tips. If they do not know the answer to a question they can google it. When they can so easily look something up why would it be important for them to memorize anything? Technology can be a great asset to the school system but it can very fully replace the basics that still need to be taught. That is why technology can not be introduced to young children. They need to create a solid platform in the basics before they switch to something to make their lives easier. Younger children and teenagers are always viewed, from the older generation, as “always on their phones” but what the older generation is not realizing is that they know no difference. These children have grown up with technology and for them they have no idea about life before internet, mobile phones, or laptop computers. It has become such a standard across the board they will never know what it was like other than what the older generation tells them. This is not a huge problem but it may create some differences when thinking about incorporating technology into the school system. If you have an older teacher who refuses to use technology how can you expect them to incorporate an teach technology to their students? This has and will continue to be a problem with technology, not everyone will be on board.
