The free market allows entrepreneurial activity to excel, which allows economic activity to shine (“10 Reasons” 2). The Internet creates a free global market that exchanges ideas to allow entrepreneurial activity to become more successful (“Should the Government” 2). This source is one of the few places in America where “free and open exchange of ideas” gets to flow freely without obstructions (“Should the Government” 4). With new ideas being exchanged, it allows America to develop into a new generation of technology and wisdom. The government has no business “censoring and regulating the free market of the Internet (“Should the Government” 4)”. Parental regulation is much better than restrictions set by the government (Leatherman 17). Additionally, less than a few parents agree the federal government should censor and regulate the Internet (Witmeyer and Gleser 4). Parents have more control of restricting what their children can watch and do on the Internet than on television or movies- which is exactly why they should use this to their advantage. (Witmeyer and Gleser 4). The Internet is an interactive source in which the user selects what he or she will view (Leatherman 8). Some people believe the Internet should be censored and regulated by the government in order to protect the youth of America. (Leatherman 6). The government should not interfere with what parents’ beliefs are. The Internet created fear that inappropriate and explicit material would be easy for children to find (Paxton 129). Many things on the Internet are vulgar and offensive, but one can prohibit the undesirable things (“Should the Government” 7).
