There are a magnitude of opportunities when searching for a job in the United States and most jobs have departments that branch off into even more possibilities. Although nursing has not always been broad, it now has various positions that one can fill and is a wonderful example of how diverse the particular profession can be. An example of one of these nurses would be a registered nurse. For every field of medicine, there is a different nursing field that corresponds with the medical field, but the registered nurse series is comprised of three classifications with progressive responsibility for nursing care, services, and administrative duties. They are distinguished by the possession of a registered nursing license and their nursing assignments which require a substantial amount of scientific knowledge. A “registered nurse I” works under the direct supervision of a physician or higher level registered nurse and perform the full range of standard nursing care duties. “registered nurse II” are allowed the opportunity to exercise more independent judgment and discretion in determining patient needs, while often assisting higher level RN’s or practitioners. Computer technology is one of the most common applications used in nursing. Nurses use computers to schedule staff, timekeeping, to order medications or supplies, and for research or email. In some organizations, nurses use computers for all patient care documentation, using systems called electronic health records or electronic medical records – EHRs and EMRs.
