Region Officer Duties

Currently it is the State Officer’s role to visit other chapter, however due to many factors like distance, time, and schedules visiting some chapters becomes difficult. Each Region on the other hand has many Region Officers who can more easily visit their local chapters, and while they may or may not be as helpful as a State Officer it is still important for moral, appearance, and inter-FBLA connection that there is some Region Officer visitations. The one of the main duties of a Region Officer is to help run Regions; however this leaves a large amount of untapped potential and an unused workforce. Region

Communication is of essential importance in any workplace, relationship, and gathering, which creates efficient leadership within a group. Towards the closing of my junior year, I was elected to be one of the few student board members to my school’s National Honor Society. Achieving board member status for this renowned society of students is an eye-opening experience. Adapting to the responsibility that a highly respected board member carries of such a prestigious group truly distinguishes differences between the ordinary member and those who collectively lead the organization. From coordinating induction ceremonies for incoming members, to communicating with local providers for community service events, being a representative of…

During every public speaking opportunity related to risk management in which I engage, whether to NCOs, command staff, or representatives from the Office of the Attorney General, I routinely ask the rhetorical question: “Are we still bound by the consent decree?” Most division members, especially command staff, ostensibly know the answer is yes, but don’t understand why or to what degree. The answer lies within the Law Enforcement Professional Standards Act of 2009 (P.L. 2009 Chapter 121) (The Act). The Act maintains the reforms achieved under the consent decree which were codified through rules, regulations, and standing operating procedures.…

“No challenge poses a greater threat to future generations than climate change” (Obama). Since the 1750’s Industrial Revolution, human activity has contributed substantially to the noxious warming of Earth’s atmosphere; the United States’ extensive burning of fossil fuels and its subsequent emission of greenhouse gases have consumed an equivalent to 7% of our GDP in 2006 alone, and an estimated $9 trillion in pollution-induced illness in just the past 30 years (Environment America). An unfortunate but evident truth of this destructive phenomenon resides chiefly in national ignorance: China and the United States, respectively, are the two, largest emitters of harmful gases in the world, as well as the holders of the two, largest…

As a Chief of Police, one would have to determine what does the department they head up stand for? Who does it represent and what are the essential purposes for the agency. With that information, the values and missions adopted will guide the action of all the officers that comprise the department (Cordner, 2016). This is a tremendous responsibility put on the Chief because it’s critical the values and missions remain the main focus and not be overcome by other unofficial purposes (Cordner, 2016). I believe the most important missions include the protection of life and property, enforcing the laws, developing and maintaining a positive relationship with the local community, and to create an atmosphere of safety.…
