ENC 1102 Assignment 2 1: The character I have chosen to write about from the film “mean girls” is Regina George, and how I like her more than any of the other characters in the film. This might be an unpopular choice that many people wouldn’t agree with, because she is portrayed as the antagonist used to push the story forward. But if we take a step back and look at the big picture I think it should be obvious that we should almost feel bad for Regina because she is entirely a victim of her environment such as her family most notably her mother who almost seems to encourage and reward Regina’s behavior throughout the story. If we examine the little that they show of her home life we will even notice her young sister behavior to seem unordinary…

Both had a tyrant that was controlling the people to do their bidding, Abigail Williams from the Salem Witch Trials and Adolf Hitler from the Holocaust. Although the Holocaust was more devastating and a mass genocide of a full religion, they both have their reasons. Hitler started killing off the Jews because of a book he read that regarded Germany's Past, While Abigail, although she was doing it for her own pleasure, had the Bible for her help of persecuting the so called “witches”. Many people fell to Hitler because they were scared of him like how Mary didn’t want to tell the court that Abigail was lying to them. Both Hitler and Abigail went many lengths to get what they wished for.…

In the play, homosexuals were being tormented and put into concentration camps because they were thought to be unacceptable by society. This would be considered a hate crime because harm was brought to homosexuals just because of their sexuality and being different from Hitler’s perspective of the “perfect person” (white, tall and blued-eyed). If people were against Hitler’s beliefs or did not fit Hitler’s vision of the “ perfect person,” those people would be killed or put in concentration camp and eventually die. In the modern-day world, these hate crimes still exists in our criminal justice system.…

This also cements my point about anti-semitism because in turn the nazi’s hatred for Jews led to jews fearing the Nazis and Hitler. They chased down Jews and their families and kill them just how they did Hansel and Gretel. In fact, their names were changed to Hansel and Gretel to disguise their Jewish heritage. This shows how much fear is placed in the hearts of Jewish people as the fight for their lives just for being…

Prejudice is defined as “a hostile or negative attitude toward people in a distinguishable group based solely on their membership in that group; it contains cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components” (Aronson, Wilson, Akert, Sommers, 2016). The cognitive component of prejudice is evidenced in the basic classification of Jewish people as a lower class of citizens by the Nazi regime. The emotional component can be witnessed throughout the film where we see members of the Nazi regime aloof to the plight of the Jews and at times scoffing at their misery. This line of thinking eventually progressed to the point of dehumanizing the Jews as a people all together. In the case of the Holocaust, prejudices eventually led to discrimination which can be considered the behavioral component.…
