Most refugees are not self-sufficient and have low levels of education, as such this forces the Australian government to spend tremendous amounts of money on medicare, tens of millions in funding on education and at the same time, our human resources are diminished. Although Australia has the ability to take in refugees, it is still unacceptable to have such large welfare costs and enormous amounts of funds for refugees to employ. This is what we are displeased to see. As a developed country, we have a demand for a group of socially useful people rather than refugees who have shockingly low levels of education and are clearly, economically harmful to our nation.
In 2014 Sydney experienced a hostage crisis at the Lindt Cafe . Hostages were held by an Islamist , Man Haron Monis who was granted political asylum in 2001, and was in fact, a “ radicalized terrorist “. As a result, three people were killed and four hostages injured. Shockingly, Professor Hoffman an expert on terrorism, concluded that the attack on Australian soil “was political in its aims and motivations”.
Australia is known around the world as a peaceful and amicable society but after the Lindt Cafe siege, can we still say the same thing about Australia?. Due to our altruism, Australian citizens have been traumatized by this event, a blind shell that exploded without warning and something that has never happened before. Yes, without doubt it is true that most refugees are innocent individuals, but the real crisis lies with Islamic radicals who are using them as shields to infiltrate the West; especially as we let in more and more
