When refugees come to a new country many refugees are discriminated against, and when that happens many refugees feel that their lives have turned inside out. For example In “Refugee and Immigrant Children: A Comparison” the article states, “Both refugee and immigrant children may encounter society’s discrimination and racism.” The article states that refugee children may encounter racism and discrimination when moving to a new country. This sounds like the time that Ha was being discriminated by her classmates. Ha said that Pink Boy, “pokes my cheek… pokes my chest” (Lai 146).
