If an individual is having hard times in life, doing activities or having hobbies can help to find refuge. Activities and hobbies can help to get over problems and fears. As an example Daniel and Panther from the video God Grew Tired of Us: The Story of the Lost Boys of Sudan, Lost their home to a war and went to a new country they didn't know anything about, but they had each other to talk to when they needed help. In the video they explain how as soon as Daniel and Panther got there they went to the same place and shared the same apartment. The point is that they had each other to talk to when something went bad, like when later on in the video they got kicked out of their apartment. Another example that shows having someone to help with the struggles in life is in the story “ High School Teammates Carry On” Leroy was a double amputee and he couldn't move around much so he had a friend help him whose name is Dartanyon. Dartanyon also had to find refuge because of the death of his mother and the fact that he was blind in one eye. The author explained their relationship in a short quote, he said “Dartanyon lifted Leroy onto his back and carried him to and from every match, on and off every bus, into and out of every gym, all season long.” (Rinaldi). Having friend helped Leroy to get around more and not have to focus so much on his injury. He also found refuge because he had someone else who had a disability too. When bad things happened to these people they got over it because they had someone to talk
