I am in Al-Faisal Academy trainee as a teacher more than administer so, I get all the teaching skills; reading, writing and listening in a good way and I like that because my hope in the future is to become English teacher. But before that I want to talk about the works in English Department Office as follow, I had the responsibility of evaluated the classrooms, the books and, the teachers of three levels 1, 2, and 3. According to the students, the results were that: 4 of the teachers are good and 2 are bad because they have a bad accent since they are from Saudi Arabia. But the result of books evaluation was very good. Every class said that because Al-Faisal Academy brings their books from Cambridge University which has a native accent …show more content…
The class had ten students from different grades. The classroom itself was right next to a cafeteria sometimes it is noisy. The noises take the attention of the students, especially in oral skills class where the focus is on listening and speaking skills. Every time I start a class, I write the tasks which we will take on the board. I tried to tell the students what the plan is and how to do it, which is more helpful for me and for them. I can refer to the list and try to finish the lesson as planned, and the students can refer the list of plan and know what they are taking during the lesson. After that, I asked the students about their last vacation. I asked this question, How many students spoke English in the last summer vacation? the class then talked about their vacation and who spoke …show more content…
The discussion makes students to share their experiences with the use of English language with each other. In the next cover hour I took listening class. The students in this class spent much of the time to define the new vocabulary in their minds before they are listening to a story. The class listened to a story about "The Best Friend" together. I asked them to answer the main idea questions in their books with their partner when the story was finished. I observed that the audio they are listening in Al-Faisal Academy has a lot of accents, but they typically focus on the standard American English accent and because it is the easiest one of all the English accents. This way is very important for the students to expose various accents and dialects of English. Typically, we teach children. We teach three days a week for a month. This group from the second session would not be very difficult to deal with them. This session was finalized on Wednesday 23March. There were one or two students that did not take their attention especially form students boys from this session, but the rest of them did not make any problems with

During this summer session of ENGL101A, I have learned multiple ways to express myself through my writing. In fact, before signing up for this class, I did not know the proper way to compose an academic essay for a particular audience, and how to properly cite my sources. Nevertheless, after the short summer session, I am able to define my purpose and audience, analyze critically any piece of information, and write with proper citations and fewer grammatical errors with confidence. Through the short time of 5 weeks, I learned how to focus on my audience as well as how to define the purpose of my papers as academically as possible.…

After finishing the English 101 course I feel like I have accomplished many of the goals that I was challenged with the beginning of the course, such as critically thinking and reading with text from the textbook “Dialogues” by Gary Goshgarian, substantively replying to my peers to understand their point of views from the text and to get a better understanding of a rhetorical argument. Thinking and reading critically were very important this whole course. Thinking and reading critically were something you would have to do in every assignment that was given. Incorporating it in every assignment has helped us greatly improve week by week and betters our understanding of each topic and the assignments main idea.…

However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. When I began studying at the University of Montevallo, I had a background of high school creative writing and English classes, and one summer of a college English class. To be honest, I was terrified of jumping into my fall English 102 class. I felt I was unprepared for a serious college level composition class, and that I would have a strenuous time adjusting to a four-year university. However, as I walk away from my English 102 class I carry the understanding of writing a college level essay, undertaking research and completing a research and argument paper properly, and knowledge to prepare me for my other classes and profession.…

The article written by Kweku Smith has an abundant amount of useful information. Overall, he brought awareness to the different aspects that a second language teacher should take into consideration regarding the student they are teaching. Smith encourages teachers to take their students background into the teaching process; noting that it plays a key factor in aiding in the process of learning. He also wants to make clear that there is no prototype as to how a second language student should behave. Therefore, it is not in the best interest of the students to expect the same rate and level of progress in language acquisition.…

She has them brainstorm out loud what the terms may mean. When the students state what they think the terms mean, then she will explain to the students the terms. After that, she visually demonstrates each term and how it is found. She gives a brief reminder of the terms they have learned and their meaning.…

It was something I did not plan for. For instance in the listening micro lesson, some of them asked questions or asked me to rewind the audio file while they were supposed to be listening to it and do not disturb their colleagues. I have learned that I have to put some rules from the beginning of the session. For instance, I should tell students to write down their questions and wait till the end of the audio file. Besides, these like-real situations helped me to be more comfortable standing up in front of…
