The concept of management being exercised outside of work is not uncommon to our lives, but instead I believe that we as humans are not always conscious to the different elements of management that we use daily. One of the more common aspects of management that we use daily is communication, whether its face to face, email, texting, or even tweeting , communication is key in order to express our goals and ambition to other individuals. Just like in any other sport, e-sports have encounter the issue of creating team tranquility an cooperation in order to achieve the one goal of a championship. To combat this issue professional team have started to hire professional managers in order to organize and delegate team problem in order to achieve their goals. Although I myself am not part of any professional team, I believe that any game that involves the cooperation between multiple people to achieve a end goal requires some form of management. Real quick the guild began to grow with peak amount of members being around 50 people from different areas of the world, and quickly became good friends a handful of the members. Soon after I started to promote these individuals to position of powers as I was getting ready to head to college; Unfortunately without leaving any goals for the guild or any type of communication for the leaders to reach me, the guild was completely dismantled by the time I returned to the game. After taking this management class I came to terms that it was not the leaders fault for the failure of the guild, but instead my own fault for not giving a clear vision of what I dreamed for the guild to be. If I were to remake the guild I would take the necessary steps in order to create a better environment for the guild, the major one being is to set a long term goal of creating a community for casual players to have fun. One step I could have taken to achieve this goal would have been to set up a Twitter and Facebook for the members in

The suggested motivational practices in this book give keen insight for organizational leaders whose business practices have not evolved over time or kept up with modern scientific research. The earliest concept of “work” began as a biological need of primitive humans to hone their survival skills. Many centuries later, societies evolved by implementing a basic reward and punishment system that effectively suited human living environments, but again depended on extrinsically driven motivation.…

The aspect of leadership that I need to focus most on improving is that of having the ability to balance work, school, and time with my family. I find that a great deal of the time I spend at home is spent working on schoolwork. I am a leader in many areas of life whether that's the classroom, clubs, or at home but the place where I show the most leadership is the sports field. Of the two sports seasons so far this year I have been on Junior Varsity and Varsity for both of them and during Track in the spring there is only Junior Varsity and Varsity, no Freshman teams. During the final day of volleyball tryouts we had a "conditioning day" where we would rotate through stations with a different exercise routine at each and one station was a coaches meeting. These were my first tryout of high school and they were extremely stressful, not only because I wanted to prove myself to my coaches but also because the training was so difficult. We had two-a-days for 10 days including Saturdays and at the end of each practice we did a drill…

I have analyzed the definition of leadership and now have a clearer understanding of it. According to, Introduction to Leadership; concepts and practice, by Peter Northouse (2015), leadership can be composed of many variables such as relationship, trait, ability, skill, behavior, and influence process. He also elaborates on how the “leadership of an individual can be used to influence a group to accomplish a common goal”. Leadership is both a science and an art. Good leadership requires an accurate sense of self, a well-communicated vision, the ability to earn the trust of others and the capability to take effective action. In order to “build your house of leadership” your actions must inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more. (Duren, Lec. 2). Throughout the semester, I have learned that some of the five Kouzes and Posner leadership practices in The Leadership Challenge come naturally to me while others do not.…
