At first I thought they were just playing around, disinterested, and being naughty; students who just want attention and nothing else. But as time went by and as my experience grew, I found out that there were underlying causes of their misbehaviors. That is why I decided to delve deeper into their worlds by conducting home visitations and communicating frequently with their parents. Luckily, some of them were able to change. Distraction is one of the most common issues in the classroom that teachers face. Students, no matter how behave they are, will always encounter distractions in the classroom. This is where the problems usually starts. Students who are distracted tend to do things that are irrelevant and disruptive to the lesson. Like what I have mentioned earlier, students who have different issues are the most affected. No matter how innovative and skilful the teacher is, there will always be students who will have difficulty participating in the lesson. Their minds are usually preoccupied with various issues that bother them either at home or at school. Students who are going through difficult situations are the ones who are quiet and shy in the classroom. They rarely participate in any activity, they fail in their academics, and they are usually the victims of bullying. I have seen and experienced personally how interesting lessons appear boring to these kinds of students. I was able to talk to some of them and they told me that they could not focus well because of the different issues that they were facing. Some also mentioned that they could not mention their problems and issues because there was nobody to listen to them. Teachers need to know their students better in order to understand them and make adjustments for them. It is not an easy task, but it is one of our duties especially for public school
