Reflective Learning Patterns

Improved Essays
Reflecting back on my semester so far, I would say I have changed a bit. Early on in a few journal entries and discussion post, I emphasized the struggle I had with time management and keeping myself motivated. I found out that I need to keep myself busy to become successful, I am currently working this semester part-time, and need to manage my time carefully. Unfortunately, I still find myself stressing about time. I can honestly say, I think I have gotten used to worrying and leaving everything at the last minute. I had written that one of the payoffs of giving up procrastination, would be not feeling rushed all the time. That I would be more in control of my life. I think I was doing pretty well with managing my time until recently when …show more content…
I am more alert during the morning, and need to focus on doing homework and studying at that time. I have also learned that classes like math, require a lot more time, but I should not neglect my other courses. I have also came to the fact that writing myself daily do-to notes, does not work. Making a huge list of what I need to accomplish looks very daunting, and that I need to keep it short and simply with. I am going to start adapting sticky notes affirmations and post them around my office area or on the fridge, anywhere that I can see them daily. I have also been visualizing a lot more this semester, seeing myself getting work done, and doing well on exams. It has been one of the best habits I have ever developed, I see myself in my desired field doing well, and enjoying my career. This is also the first semester in which I have a job again, and have been managing my time better because I have no time to slack off as much. However I find my classes requiring more time, and work has not been helpful with giving me more hours. I expressed my concern with my supervisor towards the new changes. Giving me clarity that we were short staffed, and everything should be alright mid-October gave me some relief. I hope to get back on track with my normal study routine and make use of the extra time

    Change Or Die Analysis

In the articles “Change or Die” and “Dealing with Ambiguity: The New Business Imperative” I learned a tremendous amount about ambiguity and why it is so important to be able to deal with it. The main lesson I learned from “Change or Die” was the author talking about how the real challenge isn’t changing itself, but it is the conventional thought that change requires facts, fear, and force in order to be successful in changing. Changing people does not come easy and it doesn’t come from scaring someone into change, forcing someone into change, or telling someone to change, rather it comes from being able to emotionally connect with someone and giving them hope that the change can be accomplished and that it will be good for them and that is…

College Success Skills #2 At the beginning of this semester, my main goal was to work on my habit of procrastination. I wanted to manage my time better with the use of a planner and make myself sit down and do my homework or study ahead of time so that I wouldn’t be as stressed out and could have time to have fun with friends without worrying about an assignment or test. At first I was doing an okay job, but soon I found myself falling back into my old habits.…

As my first semester almost ends, there is a plethora of aspects that played a major role in how much stress and pressure I have encountered. These aspects have created negative and positive outlooks on college and life, which is evident in my attitude as the semester closes. Essay On Self Reflection

It has been one month into the semester since the break and it has just been quite intense, but I think compared to last semester the pace is understandable. After the first semester ended and with New Year’s just passing, there was a lot of self-reflection and evaluating of what I needed to improve on, to start doing, to stop doing, etc. Even as I go day by day in semester 2, I see things that I need to make adjustments in and make little improvements on in order to make myself a better student and a better person for the massage therapy career. Despite the fact that I felt like I achieved the goals I set for myself last semester, I know there is always new things to learn and things I can build on from my previous goals. So in addition to…

Yes, and I will explain why; on the other hand, there were many flaws that affected my progress. A major issue I had in my project was managing my time. Although I had more time to spend with friends, I began to spend more time than I had, which affected other parts of my project.…

Procrastination, the actions of postponing or delaying a task. Everyone has played this game whether they were in high school or college. Even today, college students still play with this procrastination game. We all try to stay out of it, but once you play this game and get the habit of it, then there is no way out, unless you create yourself a schedule on what kinds of tasks you need to finish before the new day comes. Needless to say, I have an average amount of time management skills.…

I would say that I learned the most about what it really means to have time management after this semester. Entering my first semester of college I had blind faith in the University, and myself because I believe everything would just work out and I would pass because it was meant to be. However, fate and hope are no the things to help you life as a new college student. The drive to wake up, attend class, finish homework, and accept the new responsibility that had been placed in my novice hands diminished greatly as the non-academic temptations became to creep in my head. I must be honest with you and let you know that I did cave and willingly participate in the sweet release of social experiences.…

Introduction Over the past week I started to take notes on a 1 to 5 scale of my behavior, mental health, sleep, and the results surprised me a little. My sleep patterns range from long nights such as 12 hours to very little periods such as 5 hours of sleep. Although it didn’t matter how much or little I slept my mental and energy levels were always very low and in a sort of depressive state. I 'm not sure how long this has been going on but I have noted that it has impaired my daily activities.…

My experience of stress can be best described as a rollercoaster, steadily climbing and once at the top it can plunge down and back up and to the left and to the right, almost as if the stress is controlling the ride. Stress has changed over the years as well. My early childhood life didn’t include the worry of life, but the concern of self. I grew up as a very shy individual and was constantly scared to talk or speak in many situations. I am not sure how or why I was a shy individual, but it was a big stressor during my early development.…
