Thanksgiving is fast approaching, and so others may find themselves counting their blessings. On this fourth Thursday of the eleventh month, families gather with their loved ones in order to give thanks and reflect. Thanksgiving is day in which we gather in order to appreciate the gifts we have and to ponder on all the good things in life. This upcoming Thanksgiving, I have many things to be thankful for. However, I have come to greatly appreciate one important thing – life.
What is life? This question sparks a philosophical bulb in you that you never knew about. There are varieties of responses that you can get. I am thankful for being able to live happily and comfortable and I am thankful for the chance to live in this world. This Thanksgiving, I can sit down with my family and celebrate with my friends. I’ll look around with a smile and thank god for giving me a happy life with amazing family and

Every year on Thanksgiving break I have gone to my grandparents house to stay for the week. For me this is important because my grandparents live a good ways away and I barely get to see them. This became a tradition when I moved away from where they live because that's when our other traditions ended like on wednesdays we used to meet somewhere and eat dinner but we can’t do that any more so we thought that Thanksgiving break is a good time to go see them because we have off school and they can get off work. The whole time we are up there we laugh cook and have fun together.…

As soon as we walked through the door, the smells of fall surrounding us, preparations for that night’s dinner began. My mother and my Aunt Nicole headed off to get to work on making their pungent sweet-sour cabbage, while my great-grandma and I worked on making her world-famous apple pie from scratch. My Aunt Julie, the culinary expert, was in charge of preparing her savory turkey, giving the wishbone to my cousin and I to split. My youngest family members, Beau and Hadley, worked on making Thanksgiving crafts, like turkeys they traced with their hands, and Thanksgiving confetti, something I always did when I was younger. To add the final touch to our Thanksgiving dinner my uncle put in our favorite movie,…

Last November, a week before Thanksgiving, I was listening to the morning radio talk show The Woody Show and the hosts were talking about how excited they were for the Thanksgiving feast. They all went around and shared what was their perfect meal for that day. It ranged from fried turkey, to stuffing, cornbread, green bean casserole, and towards the end the hosts argued about cranberry sauce. However, they all agreed that pumpkin pie was essential to the perfect meal. I found it very interesting that while they argued about the way the meal was executed, they all agreed on the basic components to the meal-I didn’t.…
