I loved the Spirit book. When I read the book, I was like why can the Hmong people just let the doctors do their jobs since they are professionals, and now I understand that they see things in a different way then we do. They see the body, mind, and spirit working together as one. I think care providers have a hard believing that their ways can work as well. When I heard about the Tuskegee study in core 1, I was so shocked that they would let something like that to happen to those men. The fact that they refused to treat them was terrifying. I do not blame them for not trusting the doctors because no one knows if they will treat them this time or not.
