Grown up in the household with no digresses, with a unique mix of Ethiopian Jewish and Ethiopian orthodox Christian, seems a weird combination but it is just a really special part of my identity. The only people I know went to college were my teachers and there were no other role models in terms of academic aspirations or career options. I grow up with no parents with very restricted traditional relatives. I did not have any typical American teenager freedom.
