Reflective Essay: The LMC Fine Arts

Decent Essays
The LMC Fine Arts is something that sounds very fun and interesting and I would really like to take part in it. I remember you saying that multiple people could help with the presentation, but only a few people would be able to actually participate in the workshops or classes. I understand that you will only let a couple middle schoolers do it if any because of the simple fact that it is not exactly for both middle and high school. I would just like to say that I would love to do it and be a part of it because I am constantly trying to make myself better in theatre and drama. I send you this email because I am sure many middle schoolers would also like to take part in this; I just really hope that you will pick me to do it. At this point I

The Learning Center’s semi-annual FLOCS assessment was coming up soon. The Learning Center director had to make sure all of the client paperwork was in order and I had to make sure the fire inspection was completed prior to the FLOCS assessment. Dealing with the country Fire Inspectors was not an easy task. Normally a Fire Inspector would come arrive for the inspection in late May or Early June, but apparently they were very busy this year and were running behind schedule. Several calls were placed to the Fire Inspection office in an effort to set an appointment or at least determine what week or day a Fire Inspector could be expected to complete the inspection.…

Joining the New Visions program was one of the wisest decisions I have made. When nurses that I shadow at Unity Hospital express how jealous they are that they didn’t have a program like this when they were in high school, it reminds me to take advantage of this opportunity that not every student receives. I am confident that when I graduate college, I will be able to recollect this program, and how it led me to be successful. I will reminisce about the long hours dedicated to each college-level assignment in determination to receive a grade in the high 90’s, or that moment when I witnessed a five pound baby be born from a cesarean delivery, or even when I stood next to the operating table observing a total knee replacement surgery, while the surgeon and nurses took the time to teach me about what they were doing--an opportunity that not even college nursing students were able to see. Every assignment I completed, conversation I had, and person I met, has transformed me into a more educated and open minded student.…

INTRODUCTION Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have been and are critical drivers of social mobility and social change in the Black community. Since their founding they have had missions to provide access and opportunity for Black people when they were excluded or denied admittance elsewhere. Today, HBCUs continue close the societal and economic gaps that exist for Black people in America. HBCUs represent just three percent of institutions of higher education, enroll less than ten percent of African Americans in higher education, but graduate more than 17 percent of African American bachelor degrees and more than 24 percent of African American bachelor degrees in STEM fields (NCES, 2016).…

So far, my SCE has consisted of organizing and preparing for the start-up of this year’s National Art Honor Society chapter. In addition to inviting members to join and having our first meeting, I have been setting up for the upcoming induction as well as composing our bylaws to the NAHS constitution. As of now, I have not been able to work on my deliverable, as that project will come into play when the activities and events of NAHS begin for the school year. When those events begin in November, I will be able to construct the deliverable for my SCE.…

Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. However, that may have been the case before I entered Dr. Byrd’s domain, but after finishing the class I have come to the realization that English class can be greatly resourceful. English 102 this year has had its ups and downs, and I must admit the ups outweigh the downs. Meaning, this year, I have learned that I am not a student who wants to read or write, but through reading and writing my mind and skill sets concerning English have grown. During English 102 this year, reading and writing in class helped me expand my writing skills, improved my will to comprehend, and most importantly helped expand my knowledge.…

When I began studying at the University of Montevallo, I had a background of high school creative writing and English classes, and one summer of a college English class. To be honest, I was terrified of jumping into my fall English 102 class. I felt I was unprepared for a serious college level composition class, and that I would have a strenuous time adjusting to a four-year university. However, as I walk away from my English 102 class I carry the understanding of writing a college level essay, undertaking research and completing a research and argument paper properly, and knowledge to prepare me for my other classes and profession.…

CPT Samuel O. Fadare III L200 Essay-Crucible Experience Granting someone the ability to gain insight into the complexities of a singular moment in time that was a key transformational experience takes courage especially if that event was associated with weakness or failure. On the flipside however, is the opportunity to overcome those fears of exposure by being open and candid with oneself, with hopes that something from the experience can be analyzed and used to not only gain self-awareness but be used as an example or a cautionary tale for others, whether as the protagonist, antagonist or supplementary character. As I thought about my event, something I heard years ago came to mind, wheat people and rice people, I hope that in this stream of consciousness I will shed light onto how I overcame a significant challenge, furthermore how I will use this experience to influence others an organizational-level leader as I intertwine my crucible with lessons learned.
