Reflective Essay: The Importance Of Healthcare Science

Before I took intro in to healthcare science, I didn’t care about healthcare science and I didn’t know what a tort was. But now that I have taken healthcare science I know how important it is. I think every student should take healthcare science. Some of the important units include legal and ethical responsibilities, promotion of safety, human growth and development, interviewing, nutrition and diets, and vital signs. Legal and ethical responsibilities are very important. Students should know what a tort is and examples such as abuse, malpractice, negligence, slander, defamation, false imprisonment, assault and battery, invasion of privacy, and libel .other important things to know include the meaning of the following words: civil law, criminal law, contract, legal disability, …show more content…
First aid and safety is necessary to remember. Students should know the meaning of the following words:abrasion,amputation,avulsion,burn,cardiovascular accident,convulsion,diabetic coma,dislocation,fainting,and frostbite. Students should be able to administer CPR.futhermore human growth and development is also something to remember. The seven life stages should be known: infancy, early childhood, late childhood, adolosence, early adulthood, middle adulthood, and late adulthood. Students should know the effects of Alzheimer’s disease. Promotion of safety is good to know. Basic things to remember include: base of support, OSHA, standard, safety standard, fire extinguishers, ergonomics, body mechanics, and the R.A.C.E acronym. Additionally interviewing is good to know, things to remember Include: application forms,expenditures,application,letter of application,net income,gross income,deductions,fixed expenses,income,job applications,reseme,and variable expenses. Healthcare science is an excellent class to take but I would not any of my friends or family to go into the healthcare science
