The main ones were to listen when others speak, be respectful, and let everyone have a turn.
During the discussion, I think I presented my viewpoint well by stating it in a clear and understandable way while allowing for opposition. My beliefs prior to the discussion did influence how I presented my opinion. It made me more passionate and guarded to disagreement.

Other participants did the same thing. They were respectful of others views while maintaining their own theories and arguments. There were a few times when one person did not agree and said that someone was wrong even though what they were saying was factual. Often times our viewpoints differed and I think that was due to how we were raised and the people we grew up around. During the discussion, I stayed passionate about my topic while continuing to be respectful and aware of my audience and the setting of the discussion. I used both formal and informal tones because while it was like a debate it was still a conversation. During heated moments others, as well as myself, would use exaggerated hand gestures or movements. When disagreeing I often found myself becoming guarded but still remaining in the discussion.
