The number of clubs available to me at east high school made finding something that I loved to do easy and fun. I was able to meet new people and challenge myself in new ways. After injuring myself and not being able to play contact sports I joined the swim team. With the excellent coaching I was able to get my strength back. The school clubs also set me up with ways to reach out in my community. Key Club, NHS, and Sterling Strings have brought me new opportunities to experience the world outside of highschool and make it a better place for anyone. The school also has excellent staff and guidance counselors. Whenever I had a problem or was just stressed out about school I had someone to go to. The fact that I had someone to talk to improved my mental health during my four years in school and that is something that I value greatly. East High School brought to me a sense of community. With all of the assemblies and school wide activities i felt like i had a place here. Like i was important. Doing well in classes and learning new things are important to me but i also value a place where relationships can grow. I love working with middle schoolers – they are so much fun and have so much to offer! That being said, for both of my 8th grade placements this year, my mentors have noted that I need to build confidence when working with kids that age. I hope to do a fair amount of subbing at the junior high when I am home to get some of that experience in front of middle schoolers. I know a decent number of the kids I’d be subbing for, which is both good and bad. • Share more of my personal life with students.…

So, I would say the faculty here at Dwight is more involved with my school life, then my parents are and the fact that they are involved, puts me at ease and makes my Dwight Englewood life a little less stressful, because they are so willing to help me out and I am willing to go to them for help. S When you say school, do you just mean the academic aspect or social as well? Z Whatever you feel would be applicable.
