Session three began on a bumpy surface. Abbey was reluctant to meet once again, I entered her room and she seemed unsettled or disoriented. We started the session and she expressed her lack of desire to have a session at that moment. Apart of me felt as if I was being brash on having the session in that specific moment, maybe I should have been more open to her opinions on meeting times. However, in the past, she has been resistant as I expressed in my first reflection to meet. It does worry me that her personal situation may be overpowering her desire to do these sessions. Moving forward, she spoke a little about how she has been very low and her body was causing her some pain and attempting to arrange thoughts in her mind was just too difficult …show more content…
I figured it was probably to see my reaction, maybe she looked to see if I approved or accepted the things she discussed with me. I never changed my response, I accepted the behavior and allowed her to continue. These behavior and responses are key to therapy and I realize it was benefit to notice them, once again I wonder when I would express to her that she did these things at certain moments. Or would it be best to keep them in my notes so I could associate a behavior with a comment. This may be far fetch, nonetheless, I believe conducting either art therapy or some sort of expressive therapy will help Abbey express her feelings on another level. During this session I could not help but think she wanted to share more in depth but felt uncomfortable doing so because the information she was disclosing was very personal and she resorted back to laughter to cover those feelings. The reason I think art therapy or some form of expressive therapy would be beneficial is because or 1) her artistic abilities and the comfort she has associated to creating art, 2) it places her thoughts onto a blank canvas so it is an actual concrete visual and lastly I think it will alleviate the stress of figuring out what to say during session and instead, allow herself to express freely. I attempted to incorporate an assessment of free association and it did not resonate properly, she seemed very uncomfortable and rejected the

Session five was a big stepping stone for me, I believe I asked questions that guided her and properly validated her feelings, not to mention my powerful use of silence during the whole session. This reflection will shift gears from how I originally lay out my reflections. I usually express the goals I said I would work on and then share the progress I made during the succeeding session. However, I shared my uncertainty about where to take our session after the last one. I believe this doubt helped session five unfold the way it did.…

The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

During the first session, Katherine appears to be unprepared at first clip: 17:37minutes. I have learned that I should schedule personal timing and session so I will be well prepared to start my first session smoothly. This will help my client to start to feel comfortable and build trust on me and not judging me as Adam ask Katherine “I’m your first patient, aren’t I?” (Williams, 2015) and she say “No, not at all” from that I can see and tell that Adam already felt lost trust at first with her because she has less experience. Even though this will be my first client I must be well prepared and confident so my client will be in the same way.…

    1. Introduction “At the very heart of the CT (Cognitive Therapy) model is the view that the human mind is not a passive receptacle of the environmental and biological influences and sensations, but rather that the individuals are actively involved in constructing their reality” (Neenan& Dryden, 2004, p3). CT had developed from two specific directions which originated from the dissatisfaction from both psychotherapy and a behavioural approach (Gelder, 1983). This seminar will be broken into 2 sections. Section one will describe the theory of CT, what is CT and whom it has derived from.…
