I was not one who enjoyed learning about history, but my previous knowledge base was opened to many new concepts, such as rationalism, Gestalt psychology, and the background of behaviorism. I was able to recognize a bit of each concept not only in psychologists, such as Skinner, but also in everyday life and in people’s behavior. I do not think we should believe in every theory ever posed which, would imply a constant changing of one’s mind, but rather we are to study them and utilize them as tools for introspection. It was fascinating to learn that even as far back as Socrates, people tried to tackle some of life’s daunting questions, and I have a new found appreciation for such historians. It helped solidify the idea that our world is full of many unique individuals and cultural beliefs, and that it is advantageous to be tolerant of different possibilities and explanations of
