The giver was assigned to someone every so often years and Jonah was chosen. The original giver would give Jonah all his memories and is able to share emotions with him and show him how true heat feels like and warmth. The giver would also give Jonah the ability to finally see color. Jonah had grown so close to Gabriel and so that night Jonah went to see the giver and told him he wanted to help his society and the giver told him there is a barrier outside of the society and that if he broke it, everyone would be able to see everything once again, emotions, color, and more. So, that night Jonah went to the lab where he asked Fiona to help him find Gabriel and she did. Many officers were after him and Jonah rode his bike with baby Gabriel in it and left society. Eventually, he reached where the barrier was and broke it. Everything that was ever taken away from everyone was restored and Jonah and Gabriel were safe, reaching a place where music was loud and where someone was awaiting
