In the beginning of the semester I thought it’d be the smartest idea to work on the social media branch of my company and call it ABP Social. For the beginning weeks, we went in full steam contacting local businesses, finding their interests, seeing how we can solve their problems. We managed to learn a lot in those weeks, we learned a new method of using Snapchat as a new option for marketing. We sadly didn’t get contacted by Snapchat when we contacted them on the idea, and our number of business contacting started to dwindle as the weeks went by. While we progressed well with the social aspect of the company, I started to realize that our ABP Music branch began to have a rapid acceleration of growth. For 3 months we managed to sign 4 new …show more content…
We now are in the works of creating social media platforms for our artists and producing solo albums for them, then once they release that we will be managing tour and gig locations. Evidently this will also help in our ABP Social branch because we are building a portfolio of all the people we have helped to promote, and we are at the same time building a viewer following which we can use to back up a reason for small business to use us as a resource. I like when I’m able to work on one thing and have that also help out with other …show more content…
For the project my goal was to get a clientele of at least 2 businesses for our ABP Social branch. To start, like I mentioned earlier in the paper, I made a checklist of local business to contact and whether they where interested in a social media marketing company’s assistance and my response was very positive. We contacted a lot of local Hamden and North Haven businesses. Our main problem was we don’t have enough of a crowd reach to really pose as a useful source for them. After a few weeks our ABP Music branch took over and for 3 month I was able to get 8 artists and create 20 tracks then master and mix all the artists together to make Verses From A College Dorm. I was able to get the song sponsored on Datpiff.com (a highly used mixtape download website), posted on ITunes and Spotify, and get over 1000+ plays on sound cloud (a highly used Indi music streaming website). I was also able to create and have a new social media account for artists only called Apple connect. This app potentially connects our artists accounts with anyone that owns an IPhone. It’s still new so I’m testing it out, but I can see the potential usefulness of it. If I was to estimate how many hours I work on my company this semester, I can easily say I spent 4 month’s worth of work on the company. We also have a designer preparing to create our new website which should be live in Spring next semester. We’ve made a lot more

To improve the use of social media Mano Abbot must first find an employee who is able to handle these tasks. They can do this by hiring from within the company's marketing department or hiring an outside firm to take care of the social media pages. The next step would be to create company pages on all the social media accounts they would like to use such as facebook and youtube. Once they have successfully done so the next step would be to invite their current clients to follow those pages and new customers by offering incentives such as discounts and coupons. Manco Abbott’s use of social media must be a healthy combination of business inquires and more personal, open-ended posts.…

In the digital age, Snapchat is an example of a “new” medium that has an impact on society and technology. The immediacy of Snapchat has created a new social platform for users to communicate, send pictures and even video call in seconds. Snapchat was created in 2011, with the ghost as their logo. This ghost symbol is based off the concept “there, then gone”, in terms of photo sharing, but quickly became much more than just that (Drake, 1). The public’s desire for an application that allowed photos to disappear was the main force behind Evan Spiegel and his co-founders trying out their new app.…
