Therefore, having a leader would be really helpful for the group because the leader plays an important role in guiding other participants to create effective changes. From my observation, I feel like good leaders should be capable of making good decisions and opening to feedback because both of them are important keys to help the leaders become more open-minded. Positive feedback makes leaders become more confident, and negative feedback helps leaders in understanding their imperfection. I realize that followers tend to follow those leaders who are confident, because confident leaders are able to drive their followers in positive ways.
Being optimistic towards goals allows the group to create effective outcomes, and it also allows each participant to become more engaged and filled with passion. I feel like passionate people are more likely to attain what they want. Therefore, we need to be confident and positive first if we want to sustain positive social change. And everything is attainable as long as we take actions. Because I always believe that actions is the most powerful thing that drive us become

Through the Change Leader assessment I found myself to have a strong attitude towards change, scoring a seven; honestly not surprising as my rank recently increased and the organization I recently joined. As a strong change agent, I needed to identify obstacles that can affect change from happening along with the object or process that is needs to change. Social Work with Groups course is giving me more insight to the other courses that I have taken previously and some of those that I am currently rolled in such as Social Work with Families and Community Development. After reading the textbook and the discussions in class, the theories of group counseling, viewing groups through multicultural lens, leadership qualities and functions, co-facilitator and group development stood out for me and broaden my perception into Social Work as a profession. The first thing that caught my attention this time is that, theories of counseling are also applicable to group counseling. I learned about the theories in my social work practice class last year. This show how important the theories are to me as an emerging social worker.…
