My chosen sport for my analysis is Rugby, my strength is based in the front row, but particularly when I play as loosehead prop. However, I have been in a number of positions since I have been playing for a number of years in school rugby such as the colts A but also at my club. In the modern day for scrummaging you need explosive strength which means to put maximal power in your muscles against the opposing weight e.g. The opposite team and static strength which is key as the weight of the opposition is likely to be similar to your own weight leaving you with static strength as you are still but with pressure on your muscles both are used in your abdominals, deltoids and hamstrings.

The next step is more technical change your body mass to the other side of your body, discharge off your standing foot in an almost instantaneous action. Continue by pushing from your outside leg, driving your raised inside leg for further power and to keep your equilibrium. Finally step four while the player is disorientated run as fast as possible in the other direction.

The reason this is important was because of my recent match against Marlborough I saw my centre on my left with very little opposition against him but it was a ten metre pass on my left hand so to avoid the

To improve on my skill would be to practise the rugby pass over a prolonged period of time and under pressure such as a two on one, this technique of practise, I pass as soon as the player is interested in me, meaning I will be under half a second of pressure consequently improving the abductive movement of a pass, I would pass the ball as swift as possible and as accurately as

Instead of fighting the other team’s defenders, I fight their quick and clever forwards. My body serves as a barrier between them and the goal, as I push them back as they try to get past me. I catch a glimpse of one of my teammates out of the corner of my eye and quickly loft the ball into the air, watching it as it soars through the sky, and then lands at the foot of my teammate. I hear the faint roar of the spectators in the background as my teammate takes the ball to the…

“Runners on your mark…Set...Poww!” Those were the last sounds I heard during what could have been my last race of my sophomore year in collegiate Track and Field. It was a frisky, yet cool Saturday in April and after a strong performance in the previous indoor and outdoor season (4x100m and 400m), I was determined to continue and uphold my strong form on this day. There is a saying that things do not always turn out the way we hope, but I believe, there is always a positive lesson to be learned from every life event. I love sports.…
