In life, we all encounter problems related it to our job or a life situation. Problem solving is a skill that is required of every person in almost every aspect of life. Generally, people do not like problems because problems are time-consuming and they create stress. In order to solve any problem we need to know the source of the problem, and then address the reasons behind it, whether it was weaknesses or areas to improve.
Being imaginative is highly appreciated when solving a problem, which is something that I need to improve specifically when it comes to risk taking, transformational ideas, revolutionary thinking, and unique visions. Besides, all the members of the group need to establish a sense of importance and the need of collaboration among the team members. Moreover, all the members of the team have to contribute in the project equally because all members will receive the same grade.
To solve the problem creatively we need to disregard the conceptual blocks that inhabit creative problem solving such as, changing the way we look at the problem, which means looking at it from another prospective. In addition, seeing current problems based on an interpretation of past problems. For example, I faced a problem a similar problem before, but what worked before for that problem does not mean that it will work again for our current problem because the features of problem are different.
Additionally, ignoring the complacency block that inhabit creative problem solving such as noninquisitiveness, which result in the hesitancy to ask questions, or finding information. For instance, the other group members can help a weaker member of the group by mentoring her progress, and by actually helping her to find sources, put together her part of the research, etc. Hence, she will not feel weaker than the rest of the group. If the group was consensus, in other words enabling diversity by allowing the members of the team to pursue their passions or what they believe is important for the project.
As a result, what indicates the success of my creative plan is when each member of the group start to seek perfection. For example, the whole group members ask each other questions in order for each member to reach their potential for their part of the project, always asking "what more can be done or learned" to make the project perfect. Moreover, when the weakest member of the team becomes active, try to help other members with any remaining tasks, and proof herself as a viable team player who is willing to do whatever needed to be involve.
Therefore, one of my areas that is important to me and improved after this project is incubation. It can be defined as a method to creative action through collaboration, contribution, and harmonization among people.
